Everything was great. My favorite was the mac n cheese and burt ends. Banana Pudding just needs less filling and more banana flavor. Love the old school interior and they serve white rice! I will continue to visit every time I'm in the area.

On our way home (Bay Area) from a wonderful easy breezy weekend in Carmel. Used Yelp to find something to eat on our way home as we passed through Morgan Hill/San Jose, selected the smoking pig because of previous reviews and the 3.9 rating. The restaurant was on a corner with plenty of parking available. We were greeted upon entering and shortly after our drink orders were taken. Nice clear establishment, bathroom could use a little TLC. The food and service was amazing, the brisket was melt in your mouth delicious the links tasted homemade and the spice was nice. Had a yummy jalapeño stuffed with sausage, cheese. They had a selection of barbecue sauces the honey sauce was my favorite. The banana pudding okay yep to go. I'll definitely stop by again if I'm in the neighborhood or the location in Vegas on my next getaway.

I ordered via DoorDash and I got the 2 meat combo with pork spareribs and lean/fatty brisket with a side of baked bbq beans and I also ordered the appetizer sampler with wolf turds (stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon), potatoes skins, and burnt ends with a side of the carolina sassy sauce. My overall impression of the pork spareribs was okay - not the greatest but not bad either. I've had more tender pork spareribs before (the ready-to-bake pork spareribs at Costco are more tender and meaty) and as for the brisket, I think I should've just ordered the fatty brisket instead of the lean/fatty one because the lean/fatty was not as tender as I would've liked so perhaps the fatty one would've been more tender. I did not like the baked bbq beans at all. It was so incredibly sweet that it made me question how many spoonfuls of sugar were loaded into that thing. I had to add in a bunch of hot sauce to mellow out the sweetness. The stuffed jalapenos were okay; I do appreciate that there was some heat to the jalapenos. I also liked the potatoes skins and the burnt ends were good. Out of all the meats I had (pork spareribs, lean/fatty beef brisket, and burnt ends), I would say that the burnt ends were the most flavorful and tender.

We dined here late in the evening and found that the meat was served cold and didn't taste fresh. I wouldn't recommend this place for dinner. However, their BBQ sauces were quite impressive.

The bbq is very good for the money and the staff is excellent. The only thing is that the interior of the restaurant really needs help - I know it really shouldn't matter but it's a bit off putting. A light remodel would go a very long way - and even things like not using a beer six pack holders for their bbq sauces would be better.

The sauces a bit on the sweeter side as well as the beans, but an overall fun bbq joint, especially for the July 4 long weekend. The ribs are decent and not too dry. Overall a decent bbq spot.

We ordered sample platter (potatoes with skin, Mac and cheese balls, rib tips) and combo platter (burn ends, ribs, corn bread). Everything was good. The potatoes with skin came with meat, cheese, green onions, and sour creams. The potatoes were a bit dry (slightly over cooked). The ribs, and burn ends were very tasty and had smoke flavors. The Mac and cheese were crispy in the outside and soft and cheesy inside. My favorite was the corn bread and rib tips. The place wasn't very crowded. The server was very attentive and we had good service. I would come back.

Best brisket I've had in California. I love that they ask if you want it fatty, lean, or a mix. I like it fatty and most places give you a mix so I end up finding some parts to be too tough. But every bite of these thin slices was super tender. My partner said I have to try the burnt ends appetizer so we got that but I found it way too tough and dried out. I think I just don't like burnt ends. The sauce they were in was delicious though. Same goes for all of their sauces. Beans were great too. I'm gluten free so I had to get the plain rice instead of corn bread, but it was cooked perfectly and was great with the bean sauce. The ribs were just ok to me. The server said they are the most popular thing besides brisket but I wouldn't get them again. I'd just get all brisket. Bathroom was really gross. Meal was kinda expensive. For 2 combo plates, an app to share, 2 sodas, and a banana pudding, it was $100 with tax and tip. Quite a lot for a no frills restaurant. I would come back though for a brisket plate.
